Coconut shell crusher and molder
What is it?
The tool crushing and molding machine is a machine that is capable to make a dish using a mix of coconut tow and flax that will be transported to a mold, then the mix will be heated using a kitchen resistance.
Objectives:
General objective:
Reduce the pollution generated by plastics in disposable plates.
Specific objectives
Apply the knowledge acquired in milling machine, lathe and AutoCad for the manufacture of utensils
Manufacture of biodegradable dishes at a low cost.
Why do we make it
Our project is focused on the benefit of the environment since by using coconuts as the main element for the creation of utensils we are encouraging the reuse of natural products to which we can give a second use, and being the main element of the coconut utensils we are helping to avoid contaminating since coconut is a biodegradable element, this means that if the utensils are discontinued, they do not pose a risk to wild fauna and flora.
How does it work?
We have to introduce the coconuts in a softening liquid, then we put the coconut shells into a set of blades that will crush it and then the coconut tow falls into a container call biodigester, here we mix the coconut tow with the flax using a recycle blender motor after some minutes the mix goes through an endless screw while this happens the four pneumatic cylinders with the mold go up an after we have all the mix ant the end of the cylinder an electro valve opens up and let the mix fall to the mold then the electro valve closes and then the top of the mold heats up for some minutes until the mix dries up then the inferior part of the mold goes down and so we have our dish based on coconut tow.
