Production and re-elaboration are vital stages that happen in the circular economy, considering that it’s where everything begins. It contains the manufacturing of materials and re-elaborates products with these, procuring to avoid waste and taking good advantage of the resources.
The current economy is known for the high exploitation of natural resources and materials constantly, thanks to this, a big amount of resources disappears. It consists of a system that takes decisions along with big companies and private consumers about what, how, and for who to produce.
The companies are focused on the production of assets and services that are profitable and count with a big demand. While private consumers are free of choice on what to buy, as long as their economic chances allow it. The prices of the merchandise will be determined in the marketing. Assuming that it is accomplished, the products with the biggest demand raise their offer, while low demand decreases them. Due to this type of production, raw materials used on these products seem to be wasted for its discontinue for its low demand.
The circular economy proposes a cycle where those materials can be used a lot of times until spending all of its utility, avoiding unnecessary production that makes contamination and waste of raw materials thanks to the re-elaboration.
In conclusion, the actual economy is focused on monetary gain, without considering resource consumption. Though the circular economy has the best phase of production for the environment, it will be hard to apply since not all companies will agree to this radical change.
