The word "robot" was first used 100 years ago, in a work of science fiction that premiered in Prague in 1921. A century later, robots are no longer an idea of the future and are now part of our present. Many people appreciate having a roomba vacuum cleaner in their house every day or a food processor to help them prepare dinner, but the truth is that the use of robotics goes even further on a global scale and means real advances in important fields such as medicine, education, physics or chemistry. However, like any technological advance, the expansion of the use of robots has both positive and negative aspects.
