Industry 4.0 is the current industrial revolution, it consists of the digitization of industrial processes through the interaction of artificial intelligence with machines and the optimization of resources focused on the creation of effective commercial methodologies. This implies changes aimed at intelligent infrastructures and the digitization of methodologies, this process will have a more concrete impact on the way of doing business.
The aim of Industry 4.0 is to promote the automation of manufacturing, so that the government can create smart factories with high resource efficiency.
The concept of Industry 4.0 was mentioned for the first time at the Hannover fair (fair dedicated to industrial technology in Germany) in 2011 with the intention of launching a project that would carry out the conception and development of the smart factory associated with the fourth industry revolution, a vision of computerized manufacturing with all its interconnected processes that make use of the Internet of Things, nowadays called the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).
In the field of engineering, robotics is one of the most avant-garde and innovative branches that plays a role of the first magnitude. Nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, drones and 3D printers are expected to serve to modify different aspects of our current societies. Like medicine, high precision industry or industrial relations will suffer a great impact with this new industrial revolution.
