We have the example of a sustainable city in Bogota Colombia that since 2000 has implemented a means of transport which is the "transmilenio" to transport more than 70% of the population of Bogota and has resulted in the annual reduction of about 350,000 tons of emissions, now the city is working on replacing the fleet of diesel buses by hybrid and electric vehicles with the goal of reaching 100% of the fleet in 2024. They are also thinking of another method of electric taxis and has committed to convert 50% of their taxis in the next 10 years.
Another living example of a sustainable city could be Melbourne Australia where they have created energy-efficient buildings, which have encouraged business owners to reduce the large waste of water and energy in their establishments, have set themselves the goal of reducing carbon emissions in the commercial sector by 25% and in the residential sector by 20%. The project defined as the 1200 buildings was designed to encourage the rehabilitation of 1,200 commercial buildings, 70% of the existing commercial buildings in total.
