Meet the Team

Sherry Lehane has worked in adult education for over 22 years , including 18 years at Providence Public Library, teaching ESOL, digital literacy, reading, writing and math. In recent years, she has turned her attention to supporting adult education practitioners in the effective use of technology for teaching and learning. She is one of the project managers for the Tech Hub.

Sue Grundy, Technology Administrator and Google Apps/G-Suite Certified Administrator, joined the RI Adult Education Professional Development Center in 2015 as a Technology Consultant. She holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.

Cate Burlington

Christopher Bourret is a Program Coordinator with RIFLI/Providence Public Library. Chris has taught for over two decades in higher education and adult education, including five years in Poland for US Peace Corps. He helped pilot the Words2Learn project for World Education, which developed an app that accelerates learning of academic and health career related vocabulary for adults preparing to enter post-secondary education and technical training. He is also a contributor to the Tech Tips for Teachers blog. His teacher training work has included participation in LINCs Using Technology for Assessment webinar and several workshops for the Massachusetts-based System for Adult Basic Education Support (SABES). In RI, Chris has served as a Tech Coach, helping local adult education programs incorporate technology in their classrooms.

Karisa Tashjian serves as the Director of Education for the Providence Public Library. In this role, she leads the design and implementation of educational and workforce development programming across all ages that results in measurable engagement, value and impact to the community. Common themes in her work are the power of partnerships, technology and innovation. She is a Board Member of the New England Literacy Resource Center, Partner of the World Education EdTech Center and a member of the Rhode Island Governor's Workforce Board's Career Pathways Committee.
