Hi!  My name is Kyra K. Corley.  I graduated from Winthrop University in 1995 with a Home Economics Education degree with a minor in Secondary Education.  I started my teaching career at Fairfield Central High School.  I also met my husband while teaching there.  In 2000, I moved onto White Knoll High School as they started their inaugural school year.  I was honored and humbled to be named their first ever Teacher of the Year.  I got engaged in 2001 which brought me to Rock Hill! I started the Early Childhood Education program at Fort Mill High School in 2002.  Five years later, as Nation Ford High School opened, my husband and I made the move over to start our programs.   In 2010 my life changed forever as the Lord blessed us with our first born child.  Less than a year later we were gifted with our second child.    In 2016 the Lord made it clear that I was being called back into the classroom.  However this time I was to give middle school a try!  Being a full time coach's wife and mom of younger kids while teaching "basic life skills" to 11-14 year old's was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever experienced...especially POST COVID.  Now, after 6 1/2 years in middle school it's time to move back up to high school!    I am BEYOND excited for all the Lord has in store for me in this new season of life at Northwestern!

MY FAMILY is my priority

I met my husband when I was teaching at FCHS.  After we got married, I followed him back to the  Rock Hill area and we both taught at FMHS.  Several years later,  we celebrated when the Lord blessed us with our two awesome kids that we waited a VERY long time for.  We  LOVE spending time together as a family!  Since we're both teachers, we enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, being on the lake or at the ocean.  It is fun being a "teacher" family because we got the same days off and we like to plan adventurous things to do together.  In the above photo, we're supporting my hubby.  He is a teacher and head coach at RHHS.
