In Rock Hill Schools, we are committed to students reading, writing and collaborating daily.
In our ELA classrooms, students read online and offline. Some reading is chosen by the teacher and is taught to the entire class with support. Other books are read in book clubs in which students can collaborate with their peers to understand the book on a deeper level. Still, other reading is based entirely on the student's choice and is conducted more independently.
Students also engage in writing shorter and longer pieces of writing as well conduct research on a regular basis. Students are encouraged to present information learned in whole class and small group settings.
