English Learner Reports Reportes de Aprendizaje de inglés
Along with Quarter 2 report cards, students who are receiving English Learner services will also receive an English Learner Report. This report will show the level at which your student has been observed performing in Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. Please feel free to reach out to your student's English Learner teacher with any questions about their report. Below, you will find an example of a blank copy.
Junto con las boletas de calificaciones del segundo trimestre, los estudiantes que están recibiendo servicios para estudiantes de inglés también recibirán un informe de estudiantes de inglés. My Student is an EL
If your student is receiving EL services, you should have received an enrollment form (This is a green piece of paper.) Here are some things you should know about EL services:
You can always ask questions.
You can always decline services.
EL teachers work with classroom teachers to help students be successful in their classroom. Students are NOT enrolled in a separate class unless they are in the dual language program.

Las evaluaciones de idioma de kindergarten y preescolar finalizarán el 29 de septiembre y se les informará a todas las familias a más tardar el 13 de octubre si su estudiante está inscrito como estudiante de inglés. We have a school interpreter this year! Every Tuesday, Joan Moskal will be available to assist Spanish speaking families and English speaking teachers talk together. Let your classroom teacher know that you would like a meeting or phone call with them with a translator, and they can put in a request for support from Ms. Moskal.
¡Tenemos un intérprete escolar este año! Todos los martes, Joan Moskal estará disponible para ayudar a las familias de habla hispana y a los maestros de habla inglesa a hablar juntos. With the 7/8 heritage students, we are reading the funny story of Bart Wants a Cat. Older students read with Dual students in second grade. They shared the time, reading and talking about the next adventure of Bart's story.
This is a great example of how to learn and use the native language beyond the classroom.
Con los estudiantes de 7/8 herencia, estamos Leyendo el divertido cuento de Bart quiere un gato. Los estudiantes mayores leyeron con los estudiantes Dual en segundo grado. Compartieron el tiempo, Leyendo y hablando sobre la próxima aventura del relato de Bart.

We are very excited to welcome Alejandra Serrano to our K/1 split class. She will be our Dual Language first grade teacher, and Ms. Sahagun will continue to be our Dual Language kindergarten teacher. Both teachers will teach as a team, and students will continue to share a classroom.

Ms. D'Agostino's 2nd grade class has created beautiful homes for our local birds and has been learning about habitats.

In third and fourth grade, teachers are working to incorporate more Spanish vocabulary into their Mathematics blocks and more of the English books used by their grade level teams during their literacy blocks. We hope to maintain the balance of Spanish and English in these classrooms, while providing students with exposure to a wider range of vocabulary in both English and Spanish.
En tercer y cuarto grado, los maestros están trabajando para incorporar más vocabulario en español en sus bloques de matemáticas y más libros en inglés utilizados por sus equipos de nivel de grado durante sus bloques de alfabetización. Our resource team is small but mighty this year. We have been studying the new 2020 English Learner Development Standards and have been working with classroom teachers to help them include these standards in their instruction.
