In Rush-Henrietta, the Comet Conversation is a speech that blends a personal narrative, information, and persuasion. The topic, ideas, and stylistic presentation are 100% selected by the senior.

Passion-Based

 Research or Learning

In passion-based learning, students naturally build on their own prior experiences, values, and interests, while engaging in materials that will further their knowledge on a given topic. This research will serve as the foundation for the Comet Conversation.

Database

Searchable collection of data, articles, newspapers, magazines, or reports. The databases for the Capstone are located on Sperry's library home page.

Citation or Cite

Citations are used in papers or projects to indicate who generated the ideas, images, or words first. It is essential to cite original sources and authors, otherwise it is considered plagiarizing (or stealing) another's work.

Credibility Check

The Capstone requires internet searching. Internet sources should be checked to see who sponsors, funds or runs the website. It is also important to review the qualifications, background, or employment of the authors. Lastly, check whether a source cites or links to other credible organizations within its own website.
