Welcome to the Outer Space Breakout! This Google Site has been designed as a digital breakout. Throughout the website are clues that will help you unlock the Lock Box Google Form below! Once you unlock the Lock Box, a code will be given to you that will open the metal box in the high school main office. Be rewarded with a piece of chocolate!
**Hint: Some clues may be invisible. Scroll around and look for a white glove curser to see where the invisible clues are!**
Space is enormous! It contains planets, stars, galaxies, black holes, asteroids, comets, and more! We do not fully understand the vastness of Outer Space or how everything in Outer Space works. Let's learn a little bit about Outer Space with some activities below.
Our solar system contains eight planets...sorry Pluto. Jupiter is the biggest. Jupiter contains a giant storm whose diameter is bigger than Earth! Saturn is the next biggest with rings that are made up of giant space rock. Uranus is the next biggest in size and second furthest planet from our sun. Neptune is the fourth largest and the most distant planet. Our own Earth is the next largest third in line from the sun. Venus is next. This planet's atmosphere is made up of over 95% carbon monxide. Mars is the next largest followed by Mercury. Do you know the order of the planets from closest to the sun to the farthest?
The sun is divided into four main sections. They are the Corona, Chromosphere, Photosphere, and the Core.
Black Holes are regions of spacetime that exhibit strong gravetational force. Not even light can escape a black hole! The center of our galaxy is thought to contain a supermassive black hole! What is the name of the boundry region of a black hole where nothing can escape?
The earth orbits the sun along with other planets in our soloar system. Our solar system is located in Milky Way galaxy. The universe is made up of billions of galaxies. The closest galaxy to our own is the Andromeda Galaxy. In millions of years, these galaxies are on a path to collide and form a larger one! Is your curser changing when hovering over a part of the image below? Hmmm weird.
There are eight planets in our solar system. They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Do you know the fourth largest planet?
