How To Use Flip

Universal Design for Learning Guidelines and Checkpoints

About

Flip is a tool where students can record themselves in order to answer questions, reflect, and respond to others.  A teacher can assign the class a "topic" and students can respond to the topic.  The teacher can then allow whether or not students can respond to others once a response is posted.  Teachers can also provide meaningful feedback to students.

Support UDL

Flip works with all age groups because it is very easy to use.  It would work best in late elementary through high school.  Students can use Flip as an alternative to written reflections. supporting mulitple media for communication.  It works best for short responses, but can also be used for more lengthy recordings.  Teachers can also respond to students which increases mastery oriented feedback.

Flip meets the following UDL Guidelines and Checkpoints

2.5 Illustrate Through Multiple Media

5.1 Use Multiple Media for Communication

8.3 Foster Collaboration and Community

8.4 Increase Mastery Oriented Feedback
