Dr. Naveen Mani Tripathi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Assam Centre of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT). Dr. Tripathi holds a Ph.D. in the pipeline design for multiphase flow from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Subsequently, he completed his postdoctoral research from the Chair of Process System Engineering at Technical University of Munich, Germany, delving deeper into the multiphase pipeline flow design and characterization.

Prior to joining RGIPT, Dr. Tripathi served as a Particle Scientist at the GranuTools sprl, Awans, Belgium, where he worked on the Research & Development (R&D) and Applications of different Particle and Powder flow Characterization Instruments. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at IILM University (formally CET-IILM-AHL), Gr. Noida, Uttar Pradesh and Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, in India.

Dr. Tripathi's research interests span Pipeline design for energy and process industries, thermo-fluid, multiphase fluid-particle flow, powder and granular rheology, material characterization and Additive Manufacturing. He is deeply passionate about leveraging innovative solutions to address critical challenges in these domains.

As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Tripathi has published impactful research articles in top peer-reviewed journals, international conferences, contributed to enlightening books. He is editor of books and Special Issues of peer-reviewed Journals. With several national and international patents, he innovates in renewable energy, Agritech, and product handling designs.

Dr. Tripathi’s research has been recognized with different awards and fellowships such as Alexander von Humboldt Research Grant, Germany, best paper award, best reviewer award, etc. He is also the recipient of GATE Fellowship for master’s research; Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) for International Studies; Krietman Fellowship for Ph.D. research; Research Mobility fund by TUM Germany; and the Technical University of Munich Foundation Fellowship (TUFF) for postdoctoral research.

Dr. Tripathi is the member of many academic and scientific bodies such as Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Natural Gas Society (NGS), Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME). He is voluntarily providing mentorship to different Startup Projects through Atal Incubation Centre and PRAN Foundation. He is editorial and scientific board member and reviewer for more than twenty peer reviewed international journals, publishers, and conferences.

In essence, Dr. Tripathi's overarching goal is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world applications, ultimately contributing to the advancement of technology and providing more sustainable and equitable future to society. At RGIPT, he looks forward to mentoring the next generation of scholars and contributing towards the institute's academic and research mission.
