The Past week there has been a “phishing” scam attack on RGCCISD. Please discuss with your classes what a phishing attack is and encourage everyone to delete and report, using the 3 dot menu to the right of your email. if you have questions, please reach out to us!
It has come to our attention that some of you received a phishing email with the subject line: "PART-TIME JOB OPPORTUNITY." This email, which appeared to come from Mr. Amado Rodriguez, one of our high school teachers, was not actually sent by him and is a phishing attempt.
Phishing emails often come in the form of emails, messages, or websites that look legitimate but are actually fake. Here are some common signs of phishing to watch out for:
Suspicious Requests: If the email asks you to provide personal information, such as your passwords or account details, be cautious. Legitimate requests from teachers or the school will never ask for this type of information via email.
Urgency: Be careful with messages that create a sense of urgency, making you feel like you must act quickly.
Unexpected Content: If you receive an email that seems unusual or out of character from the person who supposedly sent it, it could be a phishing attempt.
If you received this phishing email, do not click on any links or respond. Instead, please report it immediately to Mr. Saenz at ehsaenz@rgccisd.org so we can take appropriate action.
Your safety and security are our top priority. Stay vigilant, and if you ever have doubts about an email, don't hesitate to reach out for confirmation.
