Q: Can I earn credit toward recertification and salary advancement?
A: Yes! All attendees will receive a certificate for 7.5 hours ( .5 credits) toward in-district salary advancement through Roaring Fork Schools, which can also be used for recertification through CDE. Presenters earn an additional .5 credits for the additional time spent preparing a presentation. Teachers from schools outside of RFSD should ask their HR department about acceptance of our certificate toward your school's salary schedule policies.
Q: Do I need to sign up for breakout sessions in advance?
A: No, you can choose your sessions throughout the day, and adjust as you go. If you find yourself in a session that's not what you expected, feel free to move. We want every minute of your time to be well-spent.
Q: What time does the event start and end?
A: Registration opens at 8:00 am and the event starts promptly at 8:30. We will conclude at 4:00pm
Q: What food is provided?
A: We'll provide coffee and snacks. Lunch is on your own, at your choice of great restaurants in downtown Glenwood Springs.
Q: Where can I park?
A: We recommend parking in the free two-story city lot on the corner of Cooper Avenue and 9th Street. See the Morgridge Commons website for more details.
Q: I'm not very techy. Is this a good event for me?
A: Absolutely! We make sure there are sessions at the beginner level during each time slot, and we're all learning together. There is no background knowledge or proficiency level expected or required.
Q: I'm pretty tech-savvy. Will I learn anything new?
A: Yes! We have advanced sessions on a range of topics throughout the day, and you're guaranteed to learn some new strategies and have time to plan, regardless of your experience with edtech.
