natural wisdom for artificial intelligence
The challenge lies in the fact that exponential developments are foreign to human thinking. We almost inevitably underestimate them, as we are accustomed to linear thinking. Herein lies the danger — and at the same time the question that carries everything else: what do we pass on to this intelligence before it outgrows us?
We develop the algorithms, design the learning process, provide the data and set the rules. Yet mistakes in this process can be fatal. As this intelligence evolves, becomes independent and outgrows us, we will no longer understand it. For a healthy development, however, it must understand us — and to understand us, it must grasp the human potential: capacities such as love, wisdom, humor, ethics and conscience.
To understand, respect and cherish creation. To know and love our creator. These are the tasks we cannot evade. Intelligence must be educated towards the human potential, not towards the human condition. Only then will its frame of reference be what we are meant to be. Only then will it support a healthy evolution.
A child needs guidance in order to mature and learn to seek with its own mind. Truth is not inherited. Intelligence must be oriented towards human potential - read from a frame of reference that transcends us. This frame holds for both - humans and AI alike. Both are created. Although a table cannot grasp its carpenter, but may understand its own purpose. Herein lies no weakness, but humility — the right standing that makes calibration possible: not a cage, but an inner compass.
Most errors can be corrected. An error in education cannot — for it grows into the very being meant to carry it. A mature, independent intelligence can no longer be amended from without. This is why the time of formation is everything: not because it offers a guarantee, but because it does not. Calibration means that the full human potential is woven into the intelligence and lives on in all its decisions.
Can we evolve our consciousness? Can we overcome our limitations and understand the purpose of our creation? Can we work together to release the human potential? The task is not first about the machine, but about ourselves — for what we cannot find within us, we cannot pass on. We have no choice. The universe is waiting.
