Students study a compulsory semester each of History and Geography but may also select the following Global Studies semester course for a choice subject:
This elective course is designed as a precursor to the study of Global Studies subjects in the senior years, particularly Modern History and Society and Culture. Four tasks will be completed throughout the semester including at least one group task and one investigation.
A high level of achievement in Year 9 Global Studies is recommended and there is a strong focus on reading and analysis.
There may be a cost throughout the year for activities and opportunities that align with the learning and assessment plan.
This course is worth 10 SACE credits(Stage 1) and assessed according to the Integrated Learning performance standards.
