Referring Your Child for Counseling

Please note that school counselors:

  • Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention focused on mental health or situational concerns such as grief or difficult transitions (please see referral below)

  • Provide referrals to school and community resources that treat mental health issues (suicidal ideation, violence, abuse and depression) with the intent of removing barriers to learning and helping the child return to the classroom (please see page titled Franklin/Licking County Resources)

School-Based Mental Health Counseling

We are linked with two counseling agencies and have clinicians that come into the school for school-based counseling. Sometimes, the wait time can be long, so if you're able to provide transportation for your child, you may get into outpatient services faster. If you are interested in school-based counseling, please call me at 614-501-5516 or email me at molly.miller@reyn.org.
