Below you can find an outline of the topics covered this year. This outline is subject to change depending on the depth of knowledge and demonstration of skills students have on each topic.

August & September: Topics 7, 8, 9

*We will focus on data and addition and subtraction facts, strategies, and properties.


End of September & October: Topics 1-5

*Our focus will be understanding multiplication and division of whole numbers, the basic facts, properties, and fact fluency within 100.


November & December: Topic 10

*The focus will be on multiples of 10 and fact fluency.


January: Topic 6 & 16

*The focus will be on Fractions; understanding fractions as numbers, equivalent fractions, and comparing fractions.


End of January & February: Topics 12 & 13

*The focus will be connecting area to multiplication and division along with working on perimeter.


March: Topic 14

*The focus will be on solving time, capacity, and mass problems.


End of March & April: Topic 15

*The focus will be in Geometry; attributes of 2-D shapes.


End of April & May: Topic 11

*The focus will be using operations with whole number to problem solve.
