Dr. Eward is an orthopaedic oncologist, with dual clinical degrees (MD and DVM).  He treats complex sarcomas in people and animals.  His laboratory studies comparative oncology - discoveries we can make about cancer by analyses across different species.

 

Sumant "Butch" Krishnan, MD is an internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopy, reconstructive, and replacement surgery of the shoulder. Dr. Krishnan and The Shoulder Center have a mission to share innovative techniques with surgeons in the United States and abroad. He has published scientific papers, technique articles, book chapters, award-winning surgical technique videos, and has lectured and operated worldwide on shoulder problems ranging from total shoulder replacement to rotator cuff repair and shoulder instability. Dr. Krishnan is the author of a textbook dedicated to the care of shoulder injuries in throwing athletes entitled, "The Shoulder and The Overhead Athlete."

 

Peter Highlander, DPM, MS is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon at The Reconstruction Institute located in Bellevue, Ohio. 

Dr. Highlander received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida and is most recently noted for his use of 3D printed custom implants. In January 2018, Dr. Highlander performed Ohio's first successful total talus, or ankle, replacement using 3D printing. He is also the first surgeon in the U.S. to perform a custom cuboid bone replacement. 

 

Dr. Westerlund specializes in orthopaedic spinal surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. As a fellowship-trained reconstructive spine surgeon, Dr. Westerlund appreciates that every patient is unique and that every neck and back problem requires a special, thoughtful solution. Many of his patients do not require surgery, and are often successfully treated using nonsurgical options. For those who do require surgery, he uses the least invasive operative solution possible to help the patient heal quickly and achieve the very best outcome.

 

As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Cush specializes in the treatment of sports-related injuries and fractures of the foot and ankle, ankle arthritis treatment including total ankle replacement or fusion, flat foot/midfoot disorders, Achilles disorders, Hallux valgus (bunion) and great toe arthritis, lesser toe disorders, heel pain, nerve disorders, and other foot and ankle problems or pathology.

 

Dr. Marc J. Richard is an orthopedist in Durham, North Carolina and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Beckley Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Duke University Hospital. He received his medical degree from University of Vermont College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

 

Dr. Adams’s research focuses on post-traumatic ankle arthritis, in particular assessing the metabolite differences in ankle arthritis and searching for new metabolite biomarkers of arthritis and the metabolic association between arthritis and depression.

 

Dr. Gurvinder S. Deol is a board-certified (FAAOS), fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. He has a well-known reputation for excellent outcomes and cutting-edge procedures, and has extensive experience in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery. He frequently teaches techniques to neurosurgeons and spinal surgeons from around the world, and has recently developed new minimally invasive spinal technology that allows for more rapid recovery and minimizes postoperative pain typically associated with spinal surgery.

 

A Denver native, Dr. Alan Ng went to Chicago and Texas for his medical training and surgical fellowship as well as a short stint in practicing podiatric surgery before eventually moving back to his hometown to join Advanced Orthopedics. Dr. Ng specializes primarily in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery and Trauma. Outside of his own practice, he is heavily involved in the world of podiatric medicine, serving as a past President for the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and has been Chair of the Oral Foot examination for Board Certification in foot surgery since 2009.

 

Glenn Gaston, MD is an orthopedic surgeon at Charlotte, NC.-based OrthoCarolina Hand Center. Dr. Gaston is the author of numerous articles and book chapters. His professional memberships include the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Pediatric Hand Study Group and American Association for Hand Surgery. He serves as a hand consultant for Henrick Motor Sports, Stewart-Haas Racing and the Carolina Panthers.

 

Dr. Westrick treats patients with upper and lower limb fractures, pelvic and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures (fractures near joints), foot and ankle fractures, and those who require repair of nonunion and malunion (fractures that have problems healing), revision arthroplasty, failed arthroplasty, arthroplasty infections, or failed hip or knee surgery requiring arthroplasty.

 

Dr. Ryan Beck is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is fellowship-trained in orthopedic surgery sports medicine. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Southern Orthopaedic Association, American Medical Association, and Kentucky Medical Association. He co-authored several research articles published in peer-reviewed journals.

 

Dr. Grant Garrigues specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery and is well known as a thought leader in the field. Dr. Garrigues recently joined MOR from Duke University, where he served as Section Head for Shoulder Reconstruction, Co-Director of Upper Extremity Trauma Surgery, and Co-Director of the Duke Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship.  While at Duke, Dr. Garrigues was routinely awarded the five-star patient champion award for his clinical service and received consistently high patient satisfaction scores. Dr. Garrigues focuses on treating each patient as if they are a member of his family.

 

Kent Ellington, MD is an orthopedic physician and specializes in foot & ankle reconstruction, ankle replacement, and trauma. Dr. Ellington is the Medical Director of the Foot and Ankle Institute, OrthoCarolina. As an award-winning surgeon, with over 20 years of research experience, he has 18 approved patents, is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biology at UNC Charlotte and an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at Atrium.
