Mrs. Rager's Classical Moment: Did you know?
Visual art plays an essential role in classical education, serving as a bridge between truth, goodness, and beauty—the three pillars of a classical liberal arts education. At Founders Classical Academy, the study of visual art is not merely a creative outlet, but a disciplined pursuit that cultivates virtue, wisdom, and an appreciation for timeless beauty.
K-2nd: Students are honoring Black History Month by kicking off art projects inspired by Alma Thomas. We also celebrated FRIENDSHIP DAY by making special cards for our friends.
3rd-5th: Students are reflecting on leaders, such as, MLK and Frederick Douglass continued their collaborative mural. Students are learning all about the importance of team work.
6th-8th: Students continued their "Creation of Adam" pieces and explored the world of COLOR.
K-5th: In celebration of the upcoming Black History Month, we will explore how art highlights powerful leaders who represent STRENGTH and HOPE.
6th-8th: Students will complete their "Creation of Adam" art pieces and begin collaborating with 3rd to 5th grade on our BHM mural pieces.
Art supplies our art room could benefit from to enhance student creativity:
Sensitive Antibacterial Soap
Lysol Spray
Polymer Eraser (Vinyl White)
#2 Pencils
White Cardstock Paper
Glue Sticks/ Elmer's Glue (clear/white)
Being chosen as Artist of the Month is very special because it not only celebrates a student’s creativity and effort in the art room, but it also recognizes the virtue we focused on together as a school in December & January—GRATEFULNESS & COMPASSION. AOM is chosen in collaboration by our entire staff.
