ESL Program Goals:

The goal of the ESL program is to enable Emergent Bilingual students to become proficient in the listening, speaking, reading and writing of the English language through the integrated use of second language methods.

The ESL program emphasizes the mastery of English language skills, as well as mathematics, science and social studies, as integral part of the academic goals for all students to enable EL students to participate equitably in schools (required by Chapter 74 related to curriculum requirements).

Bilingual/Dual Language Program Goals: 

Emergent Bilingual (EB) students become proficient in listening, speaking, reading and writing of the English language through high quality content-based language instructional techniques.

The ESL program emphasizes the mastery of academic language skills in all core content areas: English language arts and reading, mathematics, science, and social studies, as integral parts of the academic goals for all students to enable EB students to participate equitably in school.
