Several key factors led to the recommendation of the Timekettle X1 AI Interpreter Hub for the transformational project. One of the most notable was the user interface. With its large, colorful screen and intuitive layout, the X1 offered educators and users a smooth and user-friendly experience. It also had the fastest response time among the devices we tested, averaging just 2.5 seconds. However, the standout feature was its Presentation Mode. This mode allows users to connect to the X1 via a QR code, enabling real-time translations directly on their own personal devices during a presentation. Additionally, a separate full-screen display of live speech-to-text is available, enhancing accessibility and clarity for all participants.

Presentation Mode

In Presentation Mode, users are provided with a QR code to scan with their personal devices. Once connected, they receive real-time translations in both written text and audio formats through their headphones. The system currently supports up to two languages and can accommodate up to 50 participants per session.

Multi-Way Interpretation

In Multi-Way Interpretation Mode, users connect to the device and select their preferred language. They receive both written and audible translations through the built-in earbuds. The system supports up to five different languages and accommodates up to 20 participants simultaneously.

Wifi/Remote Calling

Communicate with families in their native language using a WiFi or LTE connection. Timekettle also includes a complimentary 2-year LTE plan with every device purchase, ensuring seamless access right out of the box

Special Consideration

Another product we recommend for K–12 districts is the Timekettle T1 Handheld Translator Device. While it doesn’t offer all the advanced features of the X1 model, its lightweight design, user-friendly interface, and reliable platform make it an excellent choice for one-on-one conversations. It's especially well-suited for school administrators, office staff, nurses, and others who frequently engage in direct communication with students and families.
