At Remuera Intermediate, we believe that every student has the potential to discover and develop their musical abilities. Our Music Department offers a wide range of opportunities for students at all levels to explore their interests, express their creativity, and achieve excellence in their chosen musical pursuits. We offer an enriching education that nurtures the social, emotional, and academic growth of emerging adolescents through music-making, performance, and collaboration.

Year 8 Specialist Music Programme

An immersive, hands-on musical experience.

The Specialist Music classes allow students to explore a variety of instruments, develop digital music skills, and perform in ensembles.

• Songwriting, arrangement, and digital composition

• School recording studio access ... for student bands to record, and produce original music (Subject to audition)

• Electronic performance and production techniques using Ableton (coming soon)

• Music theory 

Students develop not just musical skills, but also confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership.
