Great Lakes Data Jam

Note: We will not be holding the Great Lakes Data Jam as a competition after the 2022-2023 schoolyear, however, educators can use these resources for a grade-level competition, student project, etc. If you have questions about these resources, please email teachered@reinsteinwoods.org

Engage your students in a fun, place-based data visualization project this school year! Students participating in the Great Lakes Data Jam will analyze local data to identify trends and patterns. Students will share their findings in a scientific report, but also communicate their findings in a creative way that engages and informs a larger audience. The data communication projects can take many forms, from posters and infographics to songs, poems, and short movies.
