Reopening region 15 Schools

District & State Guiding Documents

Reopening Our Schools - Fall 2021 document outlines our plan for a “full, safe, and appropriate” reopening of our schools in the fall of 2021, consistent with all applicable executive orders, laws, and regulations. This plan takes into account guidance from the Connecticut State Department of Education and the State of Connecticut, and may change as a result of evolving public health concerns. In addition, our District considered additional priorities, including equity in education, social-emotional learning needs, and academic recovery, to ensure learning is accessible to all.

The Region 15 Board of Education and Superintendent are bound to follow the guidelines set forth by the Department of Public Health, per the Governor's executive Order 13A.

While the Executive Order provides flexibility to some businesses and municipalities, it also empowers the Commissioner of Health to establish a list of facilities and venues where masks are required. Public and private schools are on the list established by the State Department of Health. The links to the executive order and corresponding guidelines are below.
