Head Lice
Head Lice:
Head lice are a common community problem. They are not dangerous and do not transmit diseases. The school nurse will notify the parent/guardian of the student with lice/nits and recommend treatment that evening. The student does not have to be sent home and may return to school the next day if they have received home treatment.
At Deep River Elementary, we follow the best practices set by the:
National Association of School Nurses
CDC
American Academy of Pediatrics
