I have always had a passion for personal defense due to our proximity to Portland, Oregon, where the increase in crimes and general safety concerns are heightened, especially for those like myself—young women venturing alone. Being a small business owner requires me to travel into Portland often by myself where I never feel safe being armed with just my pepper spray and stun gun, and I'm not permitted to carry in the state of Oregon at this time. Even though I have a conceal carry permit for the state of Washington, the consequences of shooting an attacker with a firearm can be overwhelming. This uncertainty led us to the discovery of Byrna products in 2021, and we instantly became avid customers.
Over the course of 2022, we began telling more and more people about Byrna Technologies, something that led to several friends making their first purchase as well. We even hosted BBQs during which everyone could shoot their launchers for the first time so they would become more comfortable. This was a huge success that eventually encouraged us to delve deeper into Byrna, particularly the available distributor opportunities. The drive of the company through social media was obvious, and my decision to work under Byrna was cemented in the positive reviews and buzz stimulated on their marketing platforms.
I admired the less lethal alternative Byrna provides to firearms along with the unique properties it held over competitors, such as the first shot pull-pierce technology. Additionally, Byrna has numerous options that appeal to women; they recognize that we don't feel safe alone, whether it comes to leaving work, jogging, grocery shopping, or even just walking to our cars. At my part-time job that put me through college, carrying pepper spray is a fireable offense. This is why I love the Banshee because it provides a weapon-free way to protect myself from attackers. Upon first contact with Byrna when stating my interest in becoming a distributor, I immediately felt I was in the right place and that everyone at Byrna was interested in my success and dedication toward building a community where everyone can live safe. Hi! I'm Lori Reeves, one of the sales representatives at Reeves Precision Matters specializing in Byrna products. As a former Battalion marksmanship coach and Combat Marksmanship instructor (CMI), I've trained over 30,000 officers and 50,000 enlisted Marines in sustainment qualification.
