Reflecting on my internship with John Deere offered me insights into both the company's operations and my personal growth. While I was at John Deere I worked in three different departments. First off I was in the back checking parts in and stocking them on the shelves. Part of checking things in, I had to learn how to use the scan gun. I learned how to check in transfers from other stores and how to send transfers from our store to others. Going along with transfers I had to learn how to learn how to use different things on the computer. While in the back I didn't use the computer often. The second place I worked in John Deere was the parts counter. Up front I learned how to ring up customers and invoice them for the product(s) they bought. Along with that I learned how to look up parts that customers needed. I had interactions with many different customers, with that I gathered that there are not a lot of customers that are similar. My third and final place that I worked, was in the service department. There I improved my communication skills over the phone. I learned that if you answer the phone and had no idea what a customer was saying, just to go with it and make sure you take notes. When I first started off at AgriVision, I was nervous that I was not going to like it there. However, I enjoyed every bit of it and could see myself there in the future. While at AgriVision, I learned many things. I became more confident in myself when helping customers and communicating with everyone in the workplace. Things as simple as being professional and having a professional job is something that I was looking forward to experiencing. Many of the experiences I have had in the last couple of months will line up and help me with what I am interested in pursuing after high school.
While interning at AgriVision I learned so much while also enjoying it. In the past, I haven't been treated the best at some of the other jobs I have had. While being at AgriVision my coworkers and boss showed me what a professional work setting should look like, which is what I needed to see. I enjoyed working with the people that I did, they were always willing to help me out. I liked being able to work around all of my coworkers and being able to get to know them. I am grateful I was able to do my internship with AgriVision and I appreciate everyone who helped me along the way.
