Revision priorities in MFL are as follows:
Make sure you prioritise the following:
Vocabulary
· Learn vocabulary for 5 to 10 minutes every day. Use the Cramit app, Memrise, Quizlet, your textbook or printed lists.
Speaking
· Practise the answers you have prepared during the course to the questions you might be asked in your speaking exam at the end of April/beginning of May.
· Work with a friend or family member, or practise recording yourself.
· It is worth you learning at least some of these off by heart.
· Remember: you have more control over the speaking exam than over any of the other three exams. Make this the exam you get your highest grade in.
· Speaking is your top priority!
Writing
· The same key words crop up a lot. For example, if you see projets (French), Pläne (German) or
planes (Spanish), you are being asked about your plans for the future.
· For that reason, make sure you read and understand every question that has been asked from 2018 to 2022.
· Learn around 5 to 10 phrases off by heart which you know you should be able to use in any piece of writing. For example, ‘I had fun’ is likely to work for any topic and will help you show off the past time frame.
Reading and listening
· It is important that you are as familiar as possible with the types of questions asked on these papers.
By far the best resource for this is the Revision Workbook:
· The revision workbook contains questions, answers and access to transcripts online.
· Past papers are also extremely helpful. If you have completed all the ones which are publicly available, speak to your teacher who will provide you with others.
Remember that your textbook, the online version (Kerboodle) and GCSE Pod are there to support you as well.
