For Years 7 – 12 the school operates a 5 x 60-minute lesson day Monday to Friday:
Morning Registration - 08.35 – 08.40
Period 1 -08.40 – 09.40
Period 2 - 09.40 – 10.40
Morning Break - 10.40 – 10.55
Period 3 - 10.55 – 11.55
Period 4 - 11.55 – 12.55
Lunch Break - 12.55 – 13.40
Afternoon Registration - 13.40 – 14.00
Period 5 - 1400 – 15.00
End of School Day – 15.00
During the first few weeks at school, new Year 7 students are supported and guided in finding their way around the school site, although it's always surprising how quickly they pick this up. Year 7 will have a slightly earlier lunch break for the first few weeks in September to allow them to get used to the canteen system, before the rest of the school join them for lunch.

At the heart of our pastoral programme is our community system, providing support and allowing everyone to flourish. Each student is assigned to one of the following communities:

Students in Years 7 to 11 are in mixed aged tutor groups and each tutor group belongs to one of our four communities. The four communities share a common purpose and ethos. Both teaching and support staff are actively involved in supporting tutor groups and promoting the communities

Your child will need a school tie that matches the colour of their community they have been allocated. School ties can be purchased from the school office.
A school uniform grant for students from low-income families transferring to secondary education can be applied for. An application form can be accessed here.
In Year 7 students are in mixed ability groups until Christmas for all subjects. After Christmas we have sets for English, Maths and Science.

Mobile phones are not to be used in school – they must be switched off and stored in bags or lockers. If you need to contact your child in an emergency during the school day, please call the school and we will get a message to them.
