KEY STAGE 4 OPTIONS INFORMATION

Welcome to the Key Stage 4 Options page.

We are once again in a position to be able to host parents and students in school at our Options Information Evening this year, which will take place on Thursday 16th February 2023, from 5:30-8:15pm. We will be operating at staggered start times to manage the large number of students and parents / carers:

Brunel & Darwin Communities at 5.30 - 6.45pm

Hubble & Jenner Communities at 7.00 - 8.15pm

Our Year 9 Options Process has been designed to give students access to a broad and balanced Curriculum at KS4, which will allow them to progress on to the next stage of their educational journey at Rednock School and beyond. This year the Options Process will comprise a combination of both the in-person Options Information Evening, as well as the online resources available at the bottom of this page.

It is vitally important that students have all of the information they need to make an informed decision about the subjects they will study at Key Stage 4. The ‘KS4 Options Booklet’ (which will be given out in hard copy at the Options Information Evening) explains the Key Stage curriculum our students will follow over the next two years, including both the compulsory aspects (such as English Maths and Science), as well as different options subjects available to them. You will be able to find more information here about each course such as the subject content, types of assessment and other opportunities which will help inform this decision.

• Tells you which subjects are CORE SUBJECTS (i.e. compulsory) and which subjects are OPTIONS (i.e. choice allowed).

ONLINE OPTIONS FORM

The online options form was sent out to students via their Rednock School email address on Thursday 16th February 2023. 

Please note that students must be logged in to their school Google account to complete the form. Students can only complete the form once, but they will be able to edit their response up until the deadline of Friday 17th March 2023 (Extended from 10th March).
