September Guide K-5
Use the table below as an activity/strategy/tool guide to help steer your planning for the beginning of the year.
Preparations Prior to the First Day of School:
Ask Admin to swap one of your contract days without students in the middle of the year for the non-contract day on Friday, if you feel like you need that day to get setup :0)
Google Classrooms-create new 2025-26, recommended one for each grade level; archive the old
Student login information cards-create in Google Sheets; include full name, username, password, email address; print on address labels to be placed on index cards (especially for K-2)
Set up classes in Typing.com (or TypingClub) for each class
Inventory and number Chromebooks (check with rsdtech if questions); deliver them to classrooms
Create seating Charts (suggested to assign students the same chromebook # they use in their classroom)
Check to see that technology in your room is functioning properly, I.E. charge them up, clean them off, etc....
Check to see that teachers have the tech they need and working correctly; remind them to put in a tech work order if a device isn't working (See more Computer Lab Tech Protocol and Support HERE)
STEAM Lab set of headphones-do classroom teachers need a class set? (RSD Tech does not supply headphones)
Get SAM Labs charging stations set up
Plan for SAM Lab Consumables - check with Mike and Vickie for material ordered
Charge other tech tools as needed
Login Kinder and First grades on computer lab chromebooks, so their profile is already there the first time they login
Check lesson plans for all grades for the first two weeks of school - Sample here
