Coach Heilman

2024 is the forth year Coach Chris Heilman will lead the Ravens as Defensive Coordinator and serve as the Dean of Student Success. Coach lives with his beautiful wife Sara and daughter Sadie here in Redmond. Before joining Ridgeview, he was a Business Education Teacher and former Head Football Coach at South Western High School in his hometown of Hanover, Pennsylvania. He graduated from his alma mater, South Western High, in 1995. During his high school playing days, they won three league championships and were undefeated during his senior year. Coach Heilman played both Offensive and Defensive Line over those three years, and was honored his senior year with York Daily Record/Hanover Evening Sun 1st team All-Area Offense/Defense and Associated Press PA All State Big School Defense awards. Afterwards, he went to Shippensburg University in the fall of 1995 and graduated with a degree in Business Education in the fall of 1999. He was a member of the Shippensburg University Raider Football team from 1995-1998 and played Defensive Line. His first two years with the team they struggled with 3-8 records, but turned it around and finished with 6-4 and 7-4 records his junior and senior seasons. During this time, he was named All PSAC (1996-1998), ALL ECAC (1997-1998), and Daktronics All Northeast in 1998. Furthermore, at the end of his senior year in 1998, he was named Kevin Mylett Defensive Player of the Year, Vinton Rambo Lineman of the Year, WSYC Defensive Player of the Year, and selected to play in 1999 AFCA World Cup of American Football.

Coach Heilman's coaching career begin when he lead spring ball drills for the defensive line and volunteered during the 1999 football season at Shippensburg University. From there he was offered a Business Education teaching job at Kennard-Dale High School in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania. During the fall of 2000, he coached the Offensive/Defensive line for the varsity football team. In 2001 he was hired as Business Education Teacher at South Western School District. During the 2001 season he coached the 7/8 th grade team as Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator as well as the Offensive/Defensive Line. From 2002-2007 he was the Freshman Head Coach and lead them to a 36-13 record and two league titles. In 2008, he moved up to the Varsity Staff and has been an Offensive/Defensive Line Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Assistant Head Coach, and Head Coach of the program from 2017 until resigning in 2020. Over that time period they won two league championships and made district playoffs four times. Coach Heilman is excited to lead the very talented Ridgeview defensive staff.
