Equipment & Football Helmets: As you have probably seen, football has been under some scrutiny the last few years due to safety concerns. Blocking and tackling techniques have been changed, along with new rules to make the game as safe as it has ever been. Along with these new techniques, equipment manufacturers have taken huge steps in making today's helmets safer than they have ever been. Ridgeview High School opened in 2012, making this season our 8th year of Raven Football. Football helmets have a shelf life of only 10 years. After that, no matter the condition, they are not allowed to be used.

Over the past 6 years we have fundraised and spent over $120,000 outfitting all of our athletes in brand new top of the line Riddell Speed Flex or Schutt F7 helmets as well as top of the line Nike uniforms. So that we do not have the problem of replacing over 100 helmets at one time again it is important we start to replenish 5-10 helmets a year so that we never get behind again.  Along with this it is time we begin replacing shoulder pads ($200-400/pair) as our inventory is getting old and beginning to fall apart. Combine these big purchases along with yearly purchases of consumables (girdles, mouth pieces, practice uniforms etc.) we need to raise around $60,000 a year. Therefore, we are looking for support from people like you to help us raise the funds necessary to achieve our equipment goals.
