What is the role of a school counselor?
As your K-8 school counselor, my role is to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. I work with students in classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one to help them build skills like problem-solving, friendship, self-confidence, and managing emotions.
I also partner with teachers and families to create a positive, supportive school environment where every child can feel safe, valued, and ready to learn. Students can expect me to be someone who listens, encourages, and helps them discover healthy ways to handle challenges.
Together, we focus on helping kids succeed in school, grow as kind community members, and feel proud of who they are.
