🌟 EVolve Youth Leadership Academy | 2026–2027
High school students can earn COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS while building real leadership and career-readiness experience!
The EVolve Youth Leadership Academy, through Institute for Public Strategies (IPS) East Valley, is accepting applications for its 2026–2027 program.
Students can gain experience in leadership, public speaking, community outreach, event planning, presentations, social media, and graphic design while participating in meaningful community projects.
Benefits include: Community Service Hours • Leadership Experience • Résumé/Portfolio Experience • Public Speaking • Event Planning • Certificate of Program Completion

Fall Teen Community Service Opportunities at A.K. Smiley Public Library
Important to Know Before You Apply:
You must be at least 16 years old.
A City of Redlands Volunteer Application and a Volunteer Release & Waiver of Liability Form are required to volunteer with the Youth Services Department (linked below). You are also required to read the City of Redlands Harassment Policy. You may email the signed forms to us at yrr@akspl.org or drop them off in the Young Readers’ Room. Please include the name of the event you're volunteering for. Completed forms must be submitted before your first volunteer shift.
LiveScan for ages 18+. The City of Redlands requires all volunteers age 18 years and older to be LiveScanned at the City's expense. If you are 18+ years old, the City will send information about the LiveScan process to the email address you provide on this registration form and you will need to complete the LiveScan before your first volunteer shift. (Not required if you're under 18 or you've previously volunteered with the Library and completed the LiveScan).
Please be aware that spots are limited and sometimes go fast. Please fill out an online application (links below) even if you have previously volunteered with us!
Family Day: Single-Day Community Event (Earn up to 6 hours of community service)
Registration Deadline: Friday, 9/11
What: Help us set up, run, and clean up our “Family Day” community event at A.K. Smiley Public Library. You may be moving E-Z Ups, tables, and chairs, helping with games and craft booths, and more!
When: Saturday, 9/26
9am-2pm (half-day shifts also available)
Where: Smiley Park at A.K. Smiley Public Library, 125 W. Vine St. Redlands
*PLEASE ONLY REGISTER IF YOU INTEND TO BE AT THE EVENT (Pro tip: Check your school calendar to see if you have any dances/events!). WE WILL BE COUNTING ON YOU IF YOU SIGN UP. Thank you!

What: We'll be putting together some surprise October giveaways for library kids (seasonal bead bracelets and necklaces).

What: The San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) volunteer program was created to promote civic and community participation within the department. DBH encourages clients, family members, students, and the community to participate in the recovery process through actively volunteering.
Who can volunteer?
- Anyone over the age of 16. If under 18, a valid work permit is required. (Please inquire for a work permit in the Student Center).
- Anyone with current ad/or lived experience with behavioral health issues (your own or that of a family member or friend).
- Anyone who wants to have or explore career paths in behavioral health.
- Anyone who has a positive attitude and wants to make a difference!How long can you volunteer?
- There is no set time to volunteer but the DBH asks for a time commitment of a minimum of 120 hours. They will work around your school and other extracurricular schedules.Why should you volunteer for DBH?
- High school students have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience by volunteering with DBH.
- Students can volunteer anytime, including during the summer as part of their volunteer requirements or teacher/CRS recommendation.
- When you volunteer, you have the opportunity to:

* Gain valuable work experience and knowledge
