Swimming Tryouts – First day of practice will be Feb 9th at 5:00-6:30 PM at RHS. All swimmers, new and returning, must attend tryouts on the Feb 9th.
🐾We have Time Trials this Monday, March 2 . We need our swimmers to be at the RHS school by 3:00 to beat the traffic at the pool parking lot. Parents, this event will start at approximately 4:30.
This is a combined event with the RHS Swim Team. We will need parent timers on all the lanes being used by REV swimmers. Since this is the best seat in the house, we know we will have those chairs filled fast. Time trials will be used to determine JV/Varsity roster spots. We will be doing 4x50s (one of each stroke). Final JV/Varsity Rosters will be posted a few days following time trials in Mr. Brown's class.
🐾 Immediately following Time Trials on 3/2 we will be having a very important Parent Meeting. We promise this will not take long but we do need all parents to make every effort to attend.
Clearance Cards – All spring athletes must be cleared BEFORE the first practice of spring season. Clearance cards from fall and winter seasons can be resubmitted and reapproved for the spring season. New athletes must submit the clearance packets online or to the office for approval prior to February 10. On the first day of tryouts, all swimmers should arrive on deck with their approved clearance email and code of conduct form signed. For more information on how to get cleared please visit our Google Classroom (class code nkrhqy2) and find the PDF “Instructions for Athletic Participation” or check out the following website https://www.redlandsusd.net/domain/5051
Practices and Meets – Practices and Tryouts are Monday through Friday @ Redlands High School at 5:00 - 6:30 PM until further notice. It is possible that our pool will be done during this season, in which case we will communicate the new schedule as soon as we can. Some varsity swim meets are on Saturdays. All swimmers will attend all practices and meets for junior varsity or varsity.
Making the Team – If you would like to become part of this great tradition, arrive with your clearance card approved, code of conduct form signed and be ready to swim (suit, goggles, swim cap, towel) on February 10. Evaluations will be made on the swimmer’s ability to make certain time bases and overall understanding of the sport
Further information on Redlands East Valley Athletics may be obtained at: https://www.redlandsusd.net/Page/53 and http://www.redlandsusd.net/
You must arrive to all practices in your swim suit. There will be no access to the gym and NO DECK CHANGING!
