Decodable Readers

This is a good place to start for student just learning how to put all of the sounds together. Decodable readers have predictable text and simple CVC word that students are able to sound out themselves & build their skills. Here are a few sights that are free for now during this time of distance learning. (as of 3/20/2020)

READ ALOUDS

Books read aloud to you are called "read alouds". Enjoy listening to many different books. This helps build your child's vocabulary and builds their skills and provides them a model of how language works. Snuggle up and enjoy these together. You can also extend the reading by asking comprehension questions, having your child re-tell the story and more.
