Redlands USD Elementary Counseling Program
Welcome to the resource page for the Redlands Unified School District's Elementary Counseling Program. We are happy to work with students, families, and schools to support the needs of our students in our community. This site was created by RUSD Elementary Counselors in order to provide students, teachers, parents, guardians, and families with resources to enhance their social and emotional well-being.
The Elementary Counselor Program was established in 2017 as part of the District’s LCAP. Its purpose is to improve the attendance and success of designated students.
The goals of this program include:
- Provide emotional support to students through one-on-one and small group counseling
- Providing a variety of classroom lessons that focus on social skills and support schools’ character education programs
- Working with families, parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding socio-emotional and academic support strategies
- Promote parent support and education
School counselors do not provide individual therapy, but can connect families with outside therapy referrals upon request.
