Welcome to the Watts Empowerment Studio! 

We are happy to welcome you as a guest of our film & music studio. We are an all-ages community recording studio offering a peaceful space to bring your ideas to life. We have top-of-the-line professional equipment and a decade of experience. We ask that you follow all of our values and rules as this is accessible and affordable for the empowerment of the youth here. This is a smoke-free, respectful, and patient environment. 

*THIS IS A COMMUNITY CENTER FOR ALL AGES VALUING PATIENCE AND RESPECT. WE PRIORITIZE A SMOKE-FREE, ALCOHOL-FREE, DRUG-FREE, AND VIOLENCE-FREE SPACE. THESE ARE NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING. ANYONE THAT DOES NOT FOLLOW THIS COULD JEOPARDIZE NOT ONLY THEIR OWN ACCESS, BUT ALSO THE LIABILITY AND ACCESS FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.

4. Share your vision of what you want to do. Bring prepared content: ideas, lyrics, beats, vision, etc.

TO BEST SUPPORT YOUR TIME HERE:

• MAX OCCUPANCY in Studio A: 7 People

• All arrivals have to come before the center closes. (Before 8:30pm) The door needs to stay closed as we can not prop open the door.

• Responsibility is on the person who booked the session, make sure you inform them of any concerns or questions.

• NO food or drinks near equipment ever.

• NO TRASH

• NO weapons

• NO bullying, yelling, pushing, running, arguing, fighting, or aggressive behavior

• NO smoking/vaping/alcohol/drugs

  • If you need to smoke, we have an area behind the building on the basketball court (South side). We have been told LAPD will give tickets if anyone smokes elsewhere.

• Leave the studio better than you found it

• Handle equipment with care

• Respect everyone and respect artist’s timeslots

• Enjoy and be empowered!

BOOKING INFORMATION:

RATES:

COMMUNITY RATE: Free *availability - Focus on learning and empowerment.

PUBLIC SESSION SPACE RENTAL (NO ENGINEER): $20/hr, *once approved

PUBLIC SESSION WITH STUDENT ENGINEER: + $25/hr, 3pm-9pm

PUBLIC SESSION WITH PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER: + $40/hr, *availability

*A $60 deposit is required for public sessions. We request at least a 24-hour cancellation notice. Any notice less than 24-hours makes your deposit non-refundable. Full payment is required upon arrival before the session starts.

Pay: method of payment and rental cost total will be discussed per person. We accept cash and check.
