CONTAMINATION

The contamination of plastic, is when in a in a bag of random mixed plastic and one piece of plastic has it's contents still in it's container. If the food is still in the container, then the sorting cannot use any of that plastic in that bag. That plastic will then go into the landfill, and that time you took to sort was wasted. This is basically making you pay twice to manage garbage.

Ways to decrease contamination:

• Emptying and rinsing containers
• Know what objects are recyclable
• If you are unable to do these, then please just throw the plastic in the garbage
