Preschool Philosophy

EARLY CHILDHOOD PHILOSOPHY

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”  1 Timothy 2:3-4 “This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 

Redeemer Lutheran Preschool in Oakmont exists to nurture young children in God’s love by providing a safe, joyful, and Christ-centered environment where faith, learning, and play grow together. We partner with families to support each child’s spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development  

 A Christian school our mission is to teach and care for preschool-aged children through intentional, guided instruction in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment. We meet each child where they are in their growth and learning, using purposeful play, teacher-led experiences, and individualized support to foster curiosity, confidence, foundational skills, and a love of learning 

Psalm 78:4 (ESV “We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the    Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”

 God entrusts parents with the primary responsibility for nurturing and educating their children in faith and in life. As a Christian school, we honor and support this calling by partnering with families, encouraging parents in their role as first teachers, and working together to guide children in knowledge, character, and faith in Jesus Christ  Research from James Heckman has shown that a high quality preschool program centered on the developmental needs of children will have long term benefits for children.  (Heckman 2000, pg. 50) Redeemer’s early childhood center must be committed to providing children with Christ-centered learning in a safe environment.  Our teachers are highly qualified and provide children a curriculum that meets Early Childhood Educational Standards.
