Esperanza Stanga

Hello, I am Esperanza Stanga.  I was born in Seville, Spain on an American Airbase.  My parents met in Spain while my father was in the air-force and they got married there.  We moved to the US when I was very young.

My primary language is Spanish.  While growing up we would go back to Spain over the years and  I would attend school there.

I attended IUP and majored in Spanish Education.  A friend of mine in Spain talked me into to transferring to the University of Seville to major in languages, which I did.  I studied French, Italian, German, and Greek.  After two years, I was fluent in six languages.  Unfortunately, over time and by not practicing some of the languages, I am now only fluent in four.  So in my free time, I still study languages.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for thirty-two years, we have an amazing daughter that is studying to be a sommelier, and we have a cat named Lady Meowzers.

We are involved in the community we live in, and with our church as well.

I host a knitting club called "The Knotty Knitters" that meets once a week and I also host a "Short Story Mystery Book Club" that meets twice a month.

I have been teaching Spanish for many years (too many to count).

This is my first year at Redeemer Lutheran School and am extremely pleased with the way Christian values are implemented here. I am anticipating a positive and fulfilling year ahead.

I have always been passionate about teaching languages and sharing my love for different cultures with my students. It is my goal to make language learning an enjoyable and meaningful experience for them. I also believe that learning a language is not just about memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules, but it is also about exploring different perspectives and fostering empathy towards others.

I am excited to be a part of the Redeemer Lutheran School community and look forward to getting to know my students and their families. I am dedicated to helping them reach their full potential and become global citizens who appreciate diversity and value communication.

Aside from teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the RLS family and I am looking forward to a great year ahead!
