Platforms for Digital Learning

Administrators will need to ensure that they can access every faculty member’s classes.

• Grades 9-12: Canvas

• Grades 3-8: Google Classroom

• Grades K-2: Google Sites

Providing Support and Guidelines

• Schedule: Faculty will follow the established schedule for classroom learning to ensure consistency.

• Virtual Check-In: Faculty will use Google Hangout/Zoom (chat or video) at the beginning of each class session to check in with students and provide instruction. The faculty will also take attendance at this time.

• Daily Updates and Posting: Faculty will update and post assignments and instruction daily using the appropriate platforms.

• Continue Normal Teacher Practices: Faculty will continue to submit grades, take attendance, post their lesson plans on Planbookedu, and monitor student learning.

General Guidelines

• Be realistic when planning: you will not be able to cover all the information you normally would in person.

• It is recommended that teachers have a Level 1 activity for students daily. E.g. short quiz, short paragraph reflection/explanation, etc.

• It is recommended that at minimum once a week teachers have a Level 2-4 activity for students that ask higher-order thinking skills.

• Treat your instruction as a whole lesson. Do not have your lesson activity AND homework.
