DAMS VEX IQ Tournament (January 25, 2020)

Thank you to retired Redbank Valley teacher, Mr. Maslar for all these amazing pictures. The kids loved seeing him in DuBois. If you would prefer a copy of the disks, let me know and I will teach your kid how to do that. :)

Rumble at Redbank League Tournament (December 14, 2019)

Parents - if you have any pictures from this event that you would like to share (I didn't take one!), please email them to me at school (klanders@redbankvalley.net). You could also send them in on a disk or pen drive if that works better for you.

Keystone Scrimmage (November 23, 2019)

Parents - if you have any pictures from this event that you would like to share (I didn't take one!), please email them to me at school (klanders@redbankvalley.net). You could also send them in on a disk or pen drive if that works better for you.

Rumble at Redbank League Championship Tournament (February 23, 2019)

We can't thank PA Rural Robotics, the REC Foundation and VEX for helping to provide such a fabulous opportunity to our kids. Thank you parents for continuing to support our kids!

RV VEX IQ Tournament (December 6, 2018)

Today was amazing and our kids did a great job. There were many exciting moments and we are sure that if you ask them about these pictures, they will have a lot to tell you.

Temporary Teams (October 17, 2018)

The kids completed surveys that Dr. Harmon and Mrs. Landers reviewed to help put them into six teams. The teams range in size from six to eight kids. By the time all of our kits are here, late December, we will be in teams of four. As soon as the kids set up their work areas, they dug right in.

VEX IQ Student Workshop at RIU6 in Clarion (October 8, 2018)

Wow! Today was wonderful!

Not only did the kids learn a lot about the VEX IQ program, building the robots and programming the robots; they learned about paying their own bill at a restaurant and proper tipping. This was an amazing experience to share with them and I think I can speak for all the adults on the trip when I say "We couldn't be more proud of them today."

Student Workshop

Wow! These kids are excited! Dr. Harmon, Mr. Bundy and I are truly looking forward to spending the day with your children and getting to know them better.

Thank you for attending the parent meeting and for being understanding with our fast turn around for Monday's trip.

Also, I have already received two full-sized flat sheets! Keep them coming. Any painter's tape would be welcome as well.

Parent Meeting

On Wednesday, October 3rd all of the kids who have been selected for the Redbank Valley Intermediate School VEX IQ Robotics Challenge teams will be asked to stay after school for a get together until 5:00. At 5:00, all parents are asked to come in for a parent meeting. We understand that this may be a little rough for you to make it to but we ask that you put forth every effort to have at least one adult attend for each child.

Items that will be gone over during this meeting are:

  • What are VEX and REC?
  • What will your child be doing with us?
  • What are our expectations of you?
  • What are you able to do to help make this program a success?

Interest Survey.pdf

Welcome

Mrs. Landers spoke to the entire 5th and 6th grade during their lunch on Thursday, September 13th. She showed the kids the video that you can find to the left. Each student was provided the opportunity to ask questions and get any answers that she had. If the kids had interest in getting involved, they were given an interest survey letter to take home to their parents with a strict deadline of Thursday, September 20th.

The response has been great. So great that Mrs. Landers needs a little time to figure out what to do about the high volume of interest. So, on Wednesday, September 26th, Mrs. Landers will notify all the children who returned their parental permissions of their membership status.
