Hi, I’m Robyn Grant. I work as an experience-led resilience coach as a HeartMath® Certified Organizational Trainer and Wellness Facilitator.
My work in emotional coherence is grounded in what I call "lived responsibility." You can read more on my story of how I got to Heart Math---below.
I have been a Health and Wellness Coach since 2007. I completed my training with The Heart Math Institute in 2020. In addition, I facilitate therapeutic dance sessions as a Dance Your Ability Facilitator and I have recently studied, certified in Music and Mindfulness, follwed by developing fun and health supportive activities for those living with Dementia.
I live in Duncan BC on Vancouver Island with my spouse and in our multi-generational home. I love to travel, cook, take road trips, hike in tall trees, investigate new concepts and opportunities that benefit human health. I love to dance. I am currently learning Spanish.
HOW I FOUND HEART MATH
Over a decade ago, I found myself in an "internal stress war." While navigating a family crisis, I took on restructuring and care roles that pushed me to the edge of my capacity. Counseling helped me survive the immediate crisis, but the daily, compounding stress eventually led to severe burnout and significant health challenges. I needed a way to handle stress in the moment no matter where and when, a way to recover from intense situations and to prepare in advance so I was better equipped when life threw me a curb ball.
HEART MATH SKILLS WERE A 'GAME CHANGER'
When I was introduced to HeartMath® by a wonderful long time friend, I was initially skeptical—could such simple practices really shift my reactions in complexity and crisis? The answer was a resounding yes. By integrating these science-validated strategies into my daily life, I upgraded my emotional baseline from one of constant "high-alert" to one of more regenerative ease, clear mindedness and capacity. I was able to navigate this challenging period with more assurance, peace and joy.
RESILIENCE FOR TODAY'S WORLD MADE EASIER
After years of personal practice and two years facilitating the Empowered Caregiver Resilience online group, I realized that caregiving professionals and leaders can gain big benefits from learning and integrating Heart Math skills. In a rapidly changing world, we cannot wait for life to get easier; we must build the internal capacity to meet it - and take care of our health.
