We received over 100 submissions to our annual 2 Sentence Horror Story contest. Please congratulate these fine students on their spine-tingling work!
1st - Late September was when it all started to happen: a bird, then another a couple of days after, all hitting your window like target practice. It was terrible, you thought, but you just brushed it all off as bird blindness to keep the nerves from getting to you; although, the dead body on your porch a few weeks later wasn't able to be explained as mere Mother Nature.
- Asil Saleh ‘29
2nd - I woke up to find my wife laying on bed, smiling at me. I was so sure I threw her corpse on the river last night.
- Paula Arevalo Espitia’28
3rd - As I slide into the backseat of the creepy car, I shut the door, and the strange looking driver keeps glancing at me from his rearview mirror, and the look petrifies me. In the dark silence, my phone lights up; "Hey, it's your Uber, I have arrived."

Rampage again sponsored a contest asking students to reimagine our script R logo by infusing it with culturally significant elements from Hispanic countries. Without surprise, the Rams came through, pouring in over 80 submissions, each one better than the last.
We are extremely proud of the work these students put into the contest. See winners below!

-Holiday Greeting Cards - find an awkward Christmas card and write a story inspired by it in 350 words or less. Who are these people? Why are they posed the way they are?
-Short Story -Can we finally figure out what Kevin McCallister’s dad does for a living in "Home Alone"? It can be narrative or creative, maybe a modern twist on a classic Christmas tale! The options are endless.
- Parody Christmas Song - rewrite a holiday classic any way you see fit. How might we bop along to "Ram Blue Christmas" or "Run Run Ricky"? Bonus points for recording your performance.
- Hallmark Channel Holiday Movie Poster - create a movie poster for this year’s holiday holiday blockbuster. Create a new title with a brief description of the film. What New England town will this occur in? Or write a synopsis of the film that warms our hearts.
Prizes will be awarded based on number of submissions for each category. All work must be original, without the help of AI, and be free of plagiarism. Students can submit multiple pieces and for multiple categories. All submissions are due by 12/20/2023. Winners will be announced after we return from the holiday break.
Rampage held our first annual 2 Sentence Horror Story contest and student submissions were frightfully good! We were overwhelmed with spine-tingling stories and are excited to announce the winners:
1st Place: Julia Rivera - Untitled
"I turn over to the TV, unable to take my eyes off the news about the missing girl. Luckily, she was still tied up when I turned around."
2nd Place: Xochitl Vargas - "Pesky Roommate"
"My roommates insist that our house is haunted. However, in the 200 years I have guarded the halls, I've yet to notice anything suspicious."
3rd Place: Mileena Rodriguez - "My Girlfriend"
"I love my girlfriend's beautiful honey brown eyes, and long, silky, black hair. I'm so glad that I was able to preserve them before they rotted away."
Thanks to all the students for submitting, and an extra special thanks to Mrs Poulos, Mr Garrett, Dr Henry, and Mr Terleckyj for their class's participation!
