We received over 100 submissions to our annual 2 Sentence Horror Story contest. Please congratulate these fine students on their spine-tingling work!

1st -  Late September was when it all started to happen: a bird, then another a couple of days after, all hitting your window like target practice. It was terrible, you thought, but you just brushed it all off as bird blindness to keep the nerves from getting to you; although, the dead body on your porch a few weeks later wasn't able to be explained as mere Mother Nature.

2nd - I woke up to find my wife laying on bed, smiling at me. I was so sure I threw her corpse on the river last night.

3rd -  As I slide into the backseat of the creepy car, I shut the door, and the strange looking driver keeps glancing at me from his rearview mirror, and the look petrifies me. In the dark silence, my phone lights up; "Hey, it's your Uber, I have arrived."

Honorable Mention

Calmly I was in my house alone sitting on  my bed playing video games when I heard loud footsteps downstairs: I went to explore down stairs when I saw a shadow run away from me. When I went to find what it was there was nothing; then the lights started to flicker and I heard a sound, almost like a gunshot, I blinked at suddenly there I was, floating.

Walking into the sculptor’s art studio for the first time, Noah noticed a bunch of porcelain statues in different poses. Looking closer, he saw that the statues were real dead, taxidermied bodies, and the sculptor holding a syringe with a wicked grin right behind him.

I stood petrified in front of the mysterious box, Its terrible contents so far beyond my comprehension.All the while my dad kept shouting: "JUST BRING ME THE THREE EIGHTHS!!!!"

Confidently, I left the class knowing I aced the test; as I walked down the halls with my friends they all talked about how hard the test was, especially the backside. I didn’t know there was a backside.

Rampage again sponsored a contest asking students to reimagine our script R logo by infusing it with culturally significant elements from Hispanic countries. Without surprise, the Rams came through, pouring in over 80 submissions, each one better than the last.

We are extremely proud of the work these students put into the contest. See winners below!

The 2024 Rampage is in the final stages of editing and will be available in print AND online in May. Enjoy a sneak peak of the cover art, a watercolor and colored pencil piece entitled Flower Fields by Esmeralda Cervantes Mota.
