Welcome to fourth grade! You are officially a Holland Brook Bobcat! I hope your summer vacation has been filled with lots of fun. I can’t wait to hear about your adventures! Just because summer is winding down doesn’t mean your fun has to end. I have an exciting and busy year planned for us. It will be filled with many opportunities for learning, laughing, and making new memories. This year I will be teaching you Reading,  Writing and Social Studies. You will visit Ms. Weiss for Math and Science.   

     In Reading you will continue to increase your reading stamina, while practicing your comprehension skills, and exploring new vocabulary. During Writer’s Workshop, you will expand your thinking by adding more details, description, and complex sentences. I will help you work through the writing process, to create pieces that you are proud to publish and share with others. 

Calling all Mathematicians! In Math, you will tackle challenging and complex problems. You will engage in “math talk” with partners and share your strategies and solutions. 

In Science, you and your lab partners will question, observe, compare and record outcomes. In Social Studies, we will stay close to home and learn more about our great state of New Jersey. 

I am truly excited to begin this new adventure with you! This year will be fantastic! Remember to stay positive, always believe in yourself, and keep smiling! I know we are going to make a great team!
