WEEK ONE:

Learn a new song!

Can you and your family learn a new song this week? Need an idea? https://musicplayonline.com/ukulele/ (you will have to login using their COVID-19 username and password at the top of the login window, then click this link again)

Can you try playing your song on instruments? Parents, you can learn to play instruments too! Use instruments you have at home, or contact me cpenrose@reach-program.com if you'd like to check out an instrument.

WEEK TWO:

MAKE A SOUND MAP!

• Find a comfortable place to sit, bring a piece of paper and pencils

• Close your eyes and listen to everything around you

• Put an "x" in the middle of the paper (this x represents YOU)

• Draw pictures of the sounds you hear, on the map, in the location you think they are coming from.

START A SOUND JOURNAL!

• Go to the same spot every day, and make a new map. Keep all of your maps in one place, and compare them at the end of the week.

SPOONS!

• Learn to play the SPOONS!

• Add some spoons rhythms to your CUPS rhythms! Play along with songs from your playlist.

WEEK 5

RHYTHM:

Try the CUP rhythm for This land is your land- and sing and play along to this familiar song! Try the keyboard part too!

SINGING AND ENSEMBLE:

Play the piano part from the HO, HO WATANAY video Ho, Ho Wataney ~An Iroquois Lullaby on your keyboard or xylophone, or sing the note names as they occur, or practice singing the note names of the melody as they occur. For an EXTRA challenge, you can try the recorder part.
